Our Story...

Nauti Paws Pet Boutique and Bakery opened its doors downtown New Bern, NC in September of 2007 with a desire to have paws as our number one customer! Sandy and Cassidy, the two original founders of Nauti Paws began this adventure with their Mom Amy Tyler. Sandy, went with her mom and dad on their honeymoon back in 2000 to the pacific coast shoreline and traveled for 10 days with them in and out of amazing little towns, whale watching and always

stopping for shop and park time. Each day she picked out a special treat in one of the great boutiques they visited throughout the trip. It was on the plane home, she had a dream of one day having a store of her own filled with all kinds of gourmet treats, fun specialty items and all natural foods in a beautiful quant town. Less than 8 months later, her parents adopted her sister and best friend Cassidy and moved to New Bern, NC. Every weekend, consisted of walks by the water, dips in the Neuse and Frisbee at the park. With all the great shops downtown, there was one store missing - a place her and her sissy to go, with all their friends! Nauti comes from the word Naughty and Nautical . Their daddy, Paul ( who is English) never uses the expression “bad dog” but rather “Naughty girls”. After quick consideration in naming it that, we quickly dropped girls and added “paws” instead. As a sweet, southern little town with a great reputation, calling a store in downtown New Bern, “Nauti Girls” we felt was not the answer. HAHA - We take pride in our customer service and if there is anything we can do for you please do not hesitate ask.
